At my day job, we finally got to the point where someone would say things like, “Why don’t you two discuss this on your own, since it doesn’t apply to all of us?” and “If this is something that can be discussed through email, let’s aim for that as often as we can.” We had one senior staff person who would print out everything he wanted to tell us, hand them out to each person, and then read it to everyone.

I like your guidelines much, much better!
