I will read a book that’s from an opposing viewpoint or philosophy, but I don’t like when something’s presented one way and then the philosophy sneaks into the narrative. I started reading a sci-fi book once that turned out to be a thinly disguised bunch of propaganda for everything from veganism to a bizarre type of environmentalism. I don’t mind reading about any of that if I’ve purposely chosen a book on those topics, but don’t tell me your book is space sci-fi and then tell the readers the Earth fell apart because people were eating hamburgers.
