I’m a Christian and truthfully would love it if abortion had never become a thing. But that’s not the reality in our world, and where we as Christians fail so hard in this issue is that we tell women they’re supposed to love the baby growing inside them, but that we hate them for getting pregnant. So many of the women who get abortions are simply scared and feel they have no choice, and here we are, shouting hateful things at them, making them feel even worse. Yep, God loves you . . . but not right now, because you got pregnant — how is that helping anything at all? I can’t imagine how these same people would feel if others publicly, viciously called them out on their gluttony or greed or lying or whatever else they have going on. An unborn baby is a human being, yes, but so is the mother. She should be treated as such, worthy of kindness and compassion.
