I’m sorry you were scolded. Sometimes it’s hard to know, especially in a case like this where you don’t know the person and perhaps couldn’t possibly have known a preferred pronoun. Only when we’re made aware can we make the changes necessary to avoid hurt feelings in the future. I’m glad you’re sharing your experience here too!
