It’s always been my habit to write in Word or Gdocs so I have all my options available to me prior to committing to a post, whether it’s on Medium or my blog. I’ve even done book reviews in a doc before C&P-ing to Amazon so I don’t hit “enter” too soon. I’m not sure if it’s a safety net for me or if it’s just that I like having everything viewable in one place, but it’s a good practice.
I’m glad you didn’t lose all your work for the post! And it was a good reminder for me to keep doing what I’m doing because you just never know.
