Take heart in the fact that all the professional editors I know are appalled by the practice of "that guy"–types calling people out publicly. There are even rules in our groups about not mentioning typos in discussion threads, because everyone makes a typo here and there for whatever reason. But it's always those insecure people who need to prove some odd sort of superiority online who speak out. Glad you dealt with it in a positive way!
