This is an excellent analysis of how to figure out what’s being said without getting out the ol’ decoder ring. And it’s so nice to hear that you went through the trouble of creating a spreadsheet to help your process of getting better at this whole thing — so, so different from some I’ve talked to who will only complain that the agent wasn’t smart enough to understand them, was biased against the genre/gender/book length/character names, or whatever else. And yes, I’ve had people tell me these exact things. Sounds like you’re on the right track to success.
