This was really fascinating! I've never noticed maker's marks on the sidewalks in my city, and it's a pretty old one, so I imagine there are some to be found. Your research into the people involved reminds me of my curiosity while meandering through old cemeteries, wondering, by the dates shown, what illnesses swept through some families and what their lives were like.
